Cooking is more than just a beloved hobby for Theresa Baumgärtner. Her motto: cooking is passion - it should be uncomplicated, fun, and best enjoyed in good company. This is also the concept behind her new TV show on NDR. In Theresa’s Kitchen – Cooking with Friends, the charming Hamburg native, who has a large fan base as a food blogger, meets with like-minded people to stir pots and whisk bowls together. The special twist: each episode has a specific theme. One time, French cuisine is on the menu with duck breast served with honey-cinnamon figs; another time, she hosts a vintage tea party and conjures up wonderfully fragrant pastries. In this companion book to the show, you’ll find around 110 sophisticated recipes that perfectly reflect the character of Theresa’s kitchen - young, creative and full of variety!
About the author:
Theresa completed a Master’s degree in Culture and Business at the University of Mannheim. Her life motto: “Follow your heart.” Even during her studies, the
passionate home cook focused on culinary topics. After internships in journalism and marketing, she decided in early 2013, during her master’s program, to become self-employed. This was followed
by the launch of her own food blog, a regular column for Burda Verlag, and a small baking book on shortbread. The pilot episode for her newly developed cooking format Theresa’s Kitchen – Cooking with Friends on NDR television sparked
a wave of enthusiasm when it aired in December and will go into series production in November 2014. Theresa works as a film writer and presenter for Theresa’s Kitchen and designs the props and visual style of the
show with great attention to detail. Her distinctive style is also clearly evident in her first cookbook. The 26-year-old lives in Luxembourg; her culinary roots lie in Baden and northern
Germany, where she grew up.

Theresa says about this book:
"This is a book filled with very special recipe treasures for the whole year! A quick look at the recipe index reveals my love for vegetables and for fresh, natural ingredients! They turn into such delicious dishes that you hardly need any carbohydrate-rich side dishes. Most of the recipes in this book are quick to prepare and absolutely suitable for everyday cooking!
The speedy salmon, the lemon chicken or a tray of sweet potatoes can be popped into the oven in no time, and preparing a soup doesn’t take long either. During the week, I cook a warming porridge in the morning or take a jar of overnight oats with me on the go—perfect for starting the day well! On weekends, a recipe can happily take a bit more time."
