Hazelnut House Harris Tweed Blazer

Our Harris Tweed Blazer! I’m so thrilled to finally introduce this special classic to you. When I first held our own tweed in my hands last autumn, I already knew a blazer made from it would be absolutely stunning. The colors reflect the tones of Hazelnut House: the sage green of our herb garden, the ivory of the meadow flowers, and the warm spice tone of ripe hazelnuts. They combine beautifully in every season.

During my visit to the Isle of Harris and the Isle of Lewis, I was deeply impressed by the care — and almost reverent dedication — with which the wool is first dyed, spun, and finally woven into fabric of the highest quality. This is a fabric that tells stories. Harris Tweed is one of those rare treasures that is more than just material — it’s an expression of centuries-old craftsmanship. Handwoven on the rugged, wind-swept Outer Hebrides, this extraordinary tweed is made from 100% pure new wool and is considered nearly indestructible. It’s a textile that carries warmth, authenticity, and timeless style — and it forms the heart of our blazer. This fabric wraps us in so much love! The wool is naturally hydrophobic, so the first raindrops simply bead on the surface. This way, the blazer keeps us warm even in a light drizzle. What a wonderful feeling of comfort when we’re outdoors!

For the production of the blazer, we partnered with the traditional company Wellington of Billmore. Together, we share a passion for the highest quality and craftsmanship — garments designed to accompany us for a lifetime. I absolutely adore the beautiful cut of Wellington of Billmore’s “Carola” blazer. Together with Moritz Meyer zu Erpen, we carefully considered every little detail: the lining in English green, the light and cheerful buttons, and the cream-colored felt under the upper collar, which beautifully echoes the white stripe in the tweed. And what can I say? The result touches me deeply at heart! Every detail of the blazer is crafted with the utmost care, and it has truly become a dream piece.

When the first blazers arrived at our small hotel on the mountain, the excitement was immediate. Everyone tried them on eagerly, and soon they disappeared back into suitcases. What joy among all the women! And what a tangible sense of connection! This blazer has become a true masterpiece, enveloping us in warmth. You can style it in many different ways: elegantly with a white blouse, casually with a light cashmere hoodie, or with a wool sweater. I personally love wearing it with the Hazelnut House sweater underneath!

I usually wear a size 38, but I chose size 40 for the blazer so I can also wear it as a jacket. If you prefer a fitted look with a blouse, I recommend your usual size. If you’re between two sizes, I suggest going with the larger one.

The tailored modern-fit silhouette creates a beautiful line, thanks to two elegantly placed back vents. The notched collar with light beige wool felt underlay, two flap pockets, a fine ticket pocket, a chest welt pocket, and an inner welt pocket give the blazer its exquisite character — enhanced by horn-effect buttons and a luxuriously shimmering green lining. Every stitch, every detail feels thoughtful and high-quality without ever being overbearing.

All my love from Hazelnut House,
Yours, Theresa
