Hazelnut House Scottish Fair Isle Pullover - Green

Curtains up for the second Hazelnut House Fair Isle sweater — now appearing in a radiant new shade of green! I can’t quite pinpoint the exact moment the idea arose to design our own Fair Isle pullover. Was it during a walk through the stormy Highlands? Over a cup of tea at the Fife Arms Hotel in Braemar? Perhaps. What I can say with certainty is that my fascination for Scottish sweaters with traditional Fair Isle patterns has lived in my heart for a very long time. I love garments that accompany me for years, that instantly put me in a very special mood the moment I put them on. And most importantly: garments that can tell a story.

The name Fair Isle goes back to a small island belonging to the Shetlands. It is known for its many seabirds, its unique light, and its patterned knitwear. When the then Prince of Wales wore a Fair Isle sweater on a Scottish country outing in 1920, it quickly became clear: this was to be the new favourite piece for stylish country excursions. The sweater soon became a classic — and has remained so to this day.

Whether in the city or in the countryside, I find that the new Hazelnut House sweater can be worn in many individual ways and styled in countless combinations. A white blouse peeking out at the sleeves or collar makes the colours shine even more brightly. With jeans it has a sporty look, and under a tweed jacket it appears very elegant. As for sizing, the sweater is wonderfully versatile here too. If you prefer an oversized look, choose one size up. Under a blazer, I would recommend a more fitted size. Each sweater is knitted for you in a renowned Scottish manufactory known for its exceptional quality and care, and which has been producing for international luxury labels for decades. A particularly fine lambswool is used for the making of the sweater, ensuring a wonderfully comfortable wearing experience.
